Dear Members & Friends of Tuesday Musicale of Detroit
Tuesday Musicale continues into the spring with a concert on March 11 titled: “A Musical Blessing”.
The program will feature music by such beloved composers as Liszt and Beethoven, with performances of music by Prokofieff, Milhaud and our own Colin Payne added for good measure!
The Beethoven will be a performance by Elaine Vermiglio of the piano sonata, commonly known as “The Tempest”.
Noted pianists Maria Meirelles and Marina Stojanovska and DSO violinist Adrienne Ronmark will, in various combinations, bring us the rest of the program, with the exception of the performance of a Liszt piano composition.
The Liszt contribution will be brought to you by an outstanding member of our Student League, Alexander Burrow, who will bring the concert to a close with Liszt’s thrilling Transcendental Etude #4.
The concert will be at the Steinway Gallery: 2700 E. West Maple Road in Commerce Township, Tuesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m.
I look forward to seeing many of you there.
The concert is free.

Dear Members & Friends of Tuesday Musicale of Detroit
Tuesday Musicale continues into the new year with a perennial favorite of its concert year: Its opera program, this year titled: “Opera with Many Faces”. The program will feature music by such beloved composers as Verdi, Wagner, Franz Lehar, Handel, and Sullivan, of Gilbert and Sullivan fame. The G & S entry will be a parody of their “I’ve got a little list/ Of those who never would be missed”, and will be sung by Stan Harr, long-time baritone with the celebrated Detroit Concert Choir. The concert will be at St. Clare of Montefalco Church, 1401 Whittier (at Mack) in Grosse Pointe Park. 7:00 p.m. on Friday February 28.
If you’ve never seen a performance of eurythmy, February 28 will be your chance to do so. Eurythmist Claudia Fontana will be performing eurythmy to the stunningly beautiful Dvorak aria “Song to the Moon” from his opera Rusalka.
Also on the program will be the light opera Franz Lehar classic Mein Lippen (My lips) sung by Ukrainian soprano Olga Yalovenko.
Several other performances will be on the program to enchant and delight you; and if you come to this concert, I can promise you will not regret having attended. The concert is free.

All in all, a rich variety of music in a concert you will not want to miss.
That’s Tuesday January 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church, 211 Moross in Grosse Pointe Farms.
Please join me at this concert which, I can promise you, is one that will be long remembered.
